CANDIDATE FOR ONKAPARINGA 2022

My name is Stephen Cook and I have been nominated as a Councillor in the upcoming Onkaparinga Council Elections for the ward of South Coast.

From 14th October 2022 everyone eligible to vote in these elections will receive a Postal Ballot in the mail.Steven Cook

It will then be necessary for you to fill in your Ballot and post it off so it’s received no later than 10th November. Please allow at least 3 days for postage.

I was born in Whyalla where I spent most of my teenage years before settling in Seaford. Twenty eight years later and I’m still here so I believe I’ve earned the privilege of being able to call myself a local.

During my time in the community, I have frequented the local church for over 10 years where I have made lifelong friends.

I have volunteered my time helping those in need and have been involved with setting up a pantry for the homeless on a private property. I get such a thrill knowing the regulars who visit the pantry have these resources to enrich their lives.

I am a strong believer in giving a voice to the people in the community, so everyone has a fair go.

My intension in running for council is so that I can be an advocate for people and ensure they are treated ethically and with respect.

Council should return to its traditional local roles of Rates, Rubbish and Roads and most definitely reducing rates is high on my list of priorities.

I have teamed up with 11 other candidates in this election who believe like I do. We are all ordinary rate payers who love their community and if we are all elected we will have every opportunity to see these changes happen.
